My name is Sandra Nelson. I live near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I am presently changing my career. I have found some fabulous help for job seekers and career changers in About.com My brother, Brian who is my favorite guru is one of the site managers in this fantastic area. My resume is a Tripod-encouraged product.

In my leisure time, I have kept myself busy. When we needed more space in which to live, my husband showed me how to draw blueprints and I designed and supervised the building of our house renovation. We more than doubled our floor space (from 650 sq.ft. to 1400 sq.ft.) and the plans I drew were accepted without change by our local City Hall planning department. I have no formal training in architecture, but I am eager to learn. I learned to love the beauty of buildings and particularly carved stone when I was very young.

My family is involved with a group called the Society for Creative Anachronism, which is a group of "history buffs" who learn about, by re-creating the middle ages. We do this by creating a character, known as a "personna" who COULD HAVE existed, but did not ACTUALLY exist, in the middle ages (the period from 600 AD to 1650 AD). We then make the costume that our personna would have worn and explore the arts and sciences which would have interested such a person. My personna is Lady Elizabeth Dougall, Headwoman of Clan Smith of John O' Groates, Scotland. She is an Elizabethan Lady who does Calligraphy, needlework, Costuming and looks after her household as only a true medieval Lady can.

My husband, Norm, is known in the SCA as Lord Eric of Clan Smith - Head of the Household. He is a vintner who makes liquors from natural ingredients the way it was done in the middle ages, before Wine- Arts stores. He is also known for having an never-emptying coffee pot which is brewing before the sun is up and everyone is welcome to a cup and a chat. He trades stories with everyone!

Our son is now 18 years old (and has his own homepage). He was 4 when we joined the SCA. His name is Donnahue and he is the heir to our clan and all of it's holdings, which are extensive. Our clan is one of the oldest households in our group, the Shire of Eisenmarche, and enjoys a type of celebrity status within the group.

Besides my husband, my son and the SCA, I have discovered a love for -- of all things -- FROGS!. If anyone shares my love for these largely misunderstood survivors, go to The Froggy Page and check them out.

If you want more information about me or any of the things I know about, or if you have information I might be able to use. Please contact me I share information freely and eagerly. I feel that some of the greatest joys in life are in learning and applying what you have learned.

Thank you for visiting my homepage.
